Stefani Shepherd
Senior Director of Growth, DHS
Stefani Shepherd has a proven track record of success in collaboration, sales acumen, marketing and business development. Her role is to ensure a healthy and growing pipeline of opportunities to impact change and accelerate mission outcomes across DHS. She joins Steampunk after almost 3 years with UiPath where she led the DHS team to expand Robotics Process Automation (RPA) technology and AI-powered Automation. Prior to UiPath, she spent 5 ½ years with global open-source software leader, Red Hat, where she won awards for Marketing and Culture before transitioning into a role as Account Executive for DHS. She began her public sector career selling market research at a small firm, CJIS Group, which instantiated her passion for government transformation.
A Northern Virginia native, Stefani resides in Ashburn, VA with her husband, 4 sons and furry Corgi, Obi. When away from the office, she might be found begrudgingly training for a triathlon or driving her kids to some sort of sport or activity (but she really wishes she was lying on the couch binging Netflix or enjoying a drink with friends.)
What musician, album, or song best describes what working at Steampunk means to you?
If the goal of Steampunk is to disrupt, stand out in a sea of sameness and repeat its successes in impacting those around them, Rage Against the Machine is a band that personifies all those goals. Their music stands the test of time. It blurs genres. It’s loud but has poetic meaning. It’s unique yet speaks to the masses. It may sound angry, but the lyrics exhibit vulnerability.
Rebels for life, active for decades and now enshrined members of the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, their music and message has stayed relevant and important for the past 30 years. Their passion is to ensure every listener questions their own motives and those around them to ensure the betterment of society. To speak to those that are disenfranchised to let them know they, too, have a voice and are required to use it to revolutionize the world around them. No matter which cause, action is their purpose. Their mission is clear. Their mission is ours.
“What better place than here? What better time than now?”
