Quila Franklin
Senior Cybersecurity Manager
Quila (Queue) Franklin is an established leader with 20 years of experience and a track record of building and motivating teams to meet strategic and organizational goals. Her experience includes the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Joint Program Office (F-35), Office of the Secretary of Defense, and Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa. In these roles she successfully led teams in the development and integration of positive culture, tactics, and techniques to identify efficiencies, reduce expenses, and increase production in cybersecurity compliance and accreditation activities.
Quila currently supports Department of Homeland Security Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) leading several programs. She has built diverse operational teams to support custom ICE information technology, design, and data exploitation projects. She has proven ability to deliver all aspects of program leadership.
Quila holds a Master of Science degree in Cybersecurity from Embry Riddle University.
What musician, album, or song best describes what working at Steampunk means to you?
Erykah Badu Sets the Pace by leading from the front. In 1997 she bridged the gap between R&B and hip-hop and pioneered Neo soul. Neo soul, also known as progressive soul, is a genre rooted in soul that incorporates elements of jazz, hip–hop, pop, rock, funk, R&B, and electronic music. Steampunk embodies progressive thinking as reflected in deliberate efforts to challenge the status quo. In 2010 Erykah filmed a controversial music video with strong symbolism reminding people of the dangers of groupthink and conforming to the masses. Similarly, Steampunk does not follow the status quo and values individual thought.
Revolutionize is defined as a sudden, radical, or complete change. Similar to how Badu positively disrupted the music industry with her bold introduction of neo soul, Steampunk continues to revolutionize government contracting by encouraging an inclusive environment that prioritizes diversity, authenticity, and innovation. Steampunk is an experience, which is a core component to continued excellence in Human Centered Design.
