Michelle Brickwedde joined Steampunk in 2019 and is responsible for developing and executing all aspects of the HR & Talent Management functions. She has served her employees and companies for over 23 years in both for-profit and non-profit organizations. She has experience in the tech industry, including start-ups, as well as the legal field, financial services, and military/defense sector.

Some of her accomplishments include transforming her employee and company cultures through times of significant change and growth, resulting in a highly engaged workforce with best-in-class performance results and service to customers. This included establishing and managing various resources and programs, such as pay-for performance total compensation plans, and implementing creative benefit offerings in order to compete with “the big boys” for attracting and retaining the best employees in a highly competitive workforce environment.

Michelle is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and a Society of Human Resources Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP). She holds a Bachelor degree in Business Management from Southeastern Louisiana University; completed her Master’s studies at Georgetown University and has earned a Certificate of Organizational Performance Management from Georgetown University; as well as a Certificate of Strategic Human Resources Leadership from the School of Industrial and Labor Relations from Cornell University. She is currently pursuing her Strategic Management Graduate Certificate from Harvard University.

When Michelle is not helping to change the world one employee at a time, she enjoys spending time with her family at Washington Nationals baseball games & Redskins football games, and with her Chocolate Lab puppy Charlie Brown. She’s a passionate life-long learner with a passion for exploring and experiencing new adventures such as SCUBA diving, sky diving, sailing, and traveling.
